School Board elections are held every two years in odd years. District 230 alternates between three seats and four seats that are up for election each cycle. In 2023, there are three seats. In 2025, there are four seats. In 2027, there are three seats. And so on.

In accordance with changes to the Election Code in 2014 (10 ILCS 5/1-1 et seq.), prospective school board candidates file nominating petitions with the Cook County Clerk's Office.
